After gearing up at ELC Outdoors guests will be transported to the river. From there, it’s a long descent down one of the steepest raftable rivers in Maine! ELC Outdoors is proud to announce that their Raft and Ropes combo trip has been selected as a Certified Grand Adventure!  This is an exciting Class II/III -river trip combined with ELC’s new aerial adventure course. Spend the first half of the day rafting on the Androscoggin River- guides will help you navigate the stretches of white water and you’ll learn the basics of paddling. All equipment (paddles, pfd’s and helmet) are provided.

Then, spend the second half in the treetops on their new ropes course! There are 12 separate elements to challenge yourself on- ending in two ziplines. Their new SnapSmart belay system allows you to be in control if the action- you control your transfer from element to element. This is an excellent trip for anyone looking to experience a great mix of white water rafting and high ropes adventures. There’s nothing else like it in the North Country!

Participants in ELC’s popular Rafts and Ropes packages have the chance to spend half a day high among the tree tops on the aerial ropes course at their new ropes course in Errol, with eight continuously navigable elements that end with two zip lines. Follow this up with time on one of the region’s many rivers for a thrilling whitewater rafting experience.

A variety of Whitewater Rafting options are also available, including rafting excursions on Class II, III and IV waters. Families with young children and anyone looking for a great paddling experience can embark on the Class II Androscoggin River adventure where they can guide their own raft or navigate the river in an inflatable kayak. The half-day excursion includes multiple runs and a riverside lunch. For a more intense experience, choose the Class III Magalloway River outing, which includes running Class II-III rapids. This is an excellent trip for youth groups looking to experience the thrill of whitewater rafting, and families looking for a little adventure!

If rafting isn’t your interest, you can choose to explore Lake Umbagog on a relaxing evening wildlife tour via pontoon boat, with outstanding opportunities to see eagles, osprey, loons, moose, deer and other wildlife.

The two-hour ropes course will have you navigating through the treetops on at least three different heart-pounding features, and is a great option for anyone looking for an introduction to high-ropes adventures. Each element is a little more challenging, and culminates in a trip down two zip lines.

Explore the Androscoggin River or Lake Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge on one of ELC Outdoors’ fleet of canoes and kayaks for rent. Trips can be self-guided or accompanied by a guide — truly a great way to spend a day, soaking in New Hampshire’s beautiful scenery aboard a canoe or kayak.
